The Gilead Morahg Fund for Hebrew

was established in honor of
Professor Gilead Morahg upon his retirement.
Gilead Morahg is Emeritus
Professor of Hebrew Literature
in the Department of Hebrew &
Semitic Studies.
He served as chair of the Hebrew & Semitic Studies
Department (1987-1993 and 1999-2004)
and Director of the Center for
Jewish Studies (1991-1993).
Professor Morahg taught thousands of
students over his career
and was connected with UW-Madison for over 35
years,
first as a graduate student and then as a faculty member.
His research focus is Modern Hebrew Literature.
