Welcome to Hebrew 202! I hope you enjoyed the winter break and are ready to continue in our adventure of uncovering the secrets of the Hebrew language and Israeli culture.

General:
1. Attendance and participation in all classes is mandatory. If you have to miss a class, let me know of the reason. When you come back to class, you have to show me the assignments that were due on the missed classes. Unexcused 3 or more absences, will result in a loss of a grade..
2. All reading assignments should be prepared before coming to class with help of the glossary and a dictionary. You can listen to some of the readings online. Directions to reach the online site are in the Hoveret.
3. Office Hours : Monday & Thursday 12:30- 1:00, Room 1356 Van Hise Hall, and by appointment. Telephone: 262-2967. My email address is: yuchtman@wisc.edu

There will be 4 quizzes in this semester. They will cover the grammatical material (from Mifgashim) and the Readings (from the Hoveret) For dates, see: “Important Dates”

Written assignments consist of:
1. Language exercises from the book Mifgashim. You should do all the exercises in
the book. A list of the required exercises is in the Hoveret.
2. Comprehension questions at the end of each Reading in the Hoveret.

Oral Presentations :
You will be expected to give an in-class oral presentation at the end of the semester. Guidelines are found in your Hoveret.

Folders:
The corrected quizzes, and the written assignments, must be kept in a pocket-folder. The folder helps in keeping constant track of your progress. At the end of the semester you should hand in your folder for final evaluation.
